Vulnerability as a superpower...that will definitely be the title of a future newsletter. Thanks Arina!

I never stopped seeing your inner hippy, and I am delighted you are letting it back out to play. After so long at Reuters, it's great you are taking time to review your values and what brings you joy (and great to see your natural wit coming back out in your writing)... bacon indeed!

Dear Rachel, you are not the first person to say this so perhaps I didn't do such a good job of hiding my inner hippie after all. But I definitely tried to appear like a more serious person than I really am at work. I guess it is more acceptable to nowadays to "bring your whole self" to your job, although that carries risks too...

Many of us at 50+ are rethinking a new life phase and the beauty of it is that, unlike in our 20s, we are free from the need to prove ourselves to get recognition. We can do things that bring us joy; try new things without being worried about failing ( because we know it’s part of the journey); and (in my case) putting peace of mind above all else - anything that doesn’t align is out. Thanks for this Emma - I wish more women at this age could have the space to write and share their stories and disrupt the “invisibility” of older women in the media and other places. I’ve also trained as a Coach and it’s the most rewarding work I do. Hope you well otherwise.

Dear Shireen. Lovely to hear from you. I have been watching your journey as a coach with admiration, especially the work you are doing with women. Very inspiring!

I have already learned so much from your wonderful coaching and am delighted I will learn more from this! Brilliant first post - keep going! And don't doubt yourself! (easier said than done, I know) xx

Thanks Aislinn. Just putting one front in front of the other seems to be the best thing for the self doubt, and accepting that you will make some missteps!
